Why I Chose Guelph...

“I chose to study at the University of Guelph because, at the time, it offered one of only two COAMFTE-accredited Couple and Family Therapy programs in Canada. ”

About the City...

“Despite Guelph being a “city”, I find that it still has a small-town feel to it. For example Guelph has independent stores and boutiques, small-town “friendliness”, and lots of green space.”

Other Thoughts...

“Being a graduate student at Guelph, I have experienced on-going support and encouragement from fellow students, staff, and faculty/lecturers.”

About My Program...

“The CFT graduate program at the University of Guelph, is very intimate. Being one of eight students allows you to develop relationships with your colleagues and the faculty – something that I found difficult to do in my undergraduate program when class sizes were much larger. Additionally, the CFT graduate program allows for both professional and personal development and growth. Over the last year I have grown tremendously as a person and will come away from the program with deeper and new understandings of myself. ”

My Future Plans...

“After graduation, I hope to work at a community agency for a couple of years while I complete my remaining direct client and supervision hours to become a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) one day leading to my own practice.”
